Product Certification Scheme for non-pressurized condensed aerosol generators and components used in fixed fire extinguishing systems
The KIWA certificates provide reliable, objective and internationally recognized proof that the product meets the relevant standard.
In this case for their own Assessment Guideline (BRL) K23001-05 ‘Product Certification Scheme for nonpressurized condensed aerosol generators and components used in fixed fire extinguishing systems’.
This contains all relevant regulations on the basis of which a Kiwa product certificate for stationary fire extinguishing components based on dry aerosols can be issued.

Specific Certification Program 05 for Fire Protection of Lithium-ion batteries storage
The performance of the fire protection system is determined for a typical lithium-ion batterie(s) fire(s). The performance of the fire protection system depends heavily on the typical situation. This certification program requires an test protocol per typical situation motivated on the safety chain consists of five phases, namely pro-action, prevention, preparation, repression and aftercare of the process end-to-end.
.
Standards Setting Organization:
This specific certification program has been developed in context of:
– PGS37 – Guideline for the Safe Storage of Electricity in Energy Storage Systems;
– NFPA 855 – Standard for the Installation of Stationary Energy Storage Systems;
– UL 9540A – Installation level tests with outdoor lithium -ion energy storage systems mockups.

Fixed firefighting systems – Condensed aerosol extinguishing systems
Condensed aerosol is an extinguishing medium consisting of finely divided solid particles and gaseous matter, these being generated by a combustion process of a solid aerosol-forming compound. Aerosol extinguishants have been recognized as effective media for the extinction of Class A fires (solid surface burning fires) and Class B and Class C fires according to EN 2.
In this regard, firefighting systems covered in BS EN 15276-1 are designed to provide a supply of fixed condensed aerosol extinguishing medium to extinguish fire.
